Oklahoma Sooners Take Down Texas Longhorns
Softball Dynasty Continues
The University of Oklahoma Sooners continued their softball dynasty Thursday night, defeating the Texas Longhorns 8-4 in Game 2 of the Super Regionals. The victory clinched a berth in the 2024 Women's College World Series.
A Hard-Fought Victory
The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading runs early on. However, the Sooners took control in the fourth inning, scoring four runs to take a commanding lead. Texas rallied in the seventh inning, but it was not enough to overcome Oklahoma's advantage.
Four-Peat for the Sooners
The victory marks the fourth consecutive Women's College World Series championship for Oklahoma. The Sooners are now 12-0 in WCWS games under head coach Patty Gasso.
Looking Ahead
The Sooners will now travel to Oklahoma City to compete in the Women's College World Series. They will face the winner of the Arizona-Mississippi State game in their first game of the tournament.
